2023 Halloween & Fall Sewing Guide
It is that time of year where we reach for our cozy sweaters, a warm cup of apple cider, and savor the yummy goodness of a fall harvest. There are so many ways to enjoy the autumn season. Hiking through a forest when the leaves are turning is one of my favorite ways to delight in the beauty of fall. It is also the perfect season to fill your home with handmade décor in Halloween colors and a palette of amber, green, orangey red, and brown. We have created a sewing guide filled with patterns and tutorials to get you ready for the Halloween and autumn season.

This pattern is perfect for the intermediate sewist with knowledge of how to create box-pleats. If you haven’t done this before, that’s okay, the free sewing tutorial will show you how to create this technique. We used Anna Maria Horner fabrics to create this adorable gift bag with an oversized bow.

It is extra special to give a present in a handmade bag. This Gift Bag Pattern is a super-fast make! By using autumn colors such as the Unruly Nature fabrics to create this bag, you will have a lovely one-of-a-kind bag that can be given and used over and over again. We used the Boxed Bag Template to create this bag. If you’re a bag-maker, this is a must have tool! You will create clean corners accurately and easily.
Fat Quarter Napkins
Decorate your holiday table with these festive napkins. The Fat Quarter Napkin tutorial is a free pattern and a very easy project. You just need two fat quarters per napkin. Along with an iron and sewing machine, you’ll have these beginner friendly napkins finished in no time! We used Adelaide – Fall fabric from Anna Maria Horner’s Welcome Home collection to create the napkins.
Pie Trivet
It is officially decadent pie season. Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and the family’s favorite – chocolate pie is an important part of our Thanksgiving dinner. The Pie Trivet sewing tutorial will protect your table and counters while also adding autumn cheer to your home. This free sewing pattern is very simple to make. We used Under the Apple Tree fabric by Loes van Oosten to create this handmade trivet.

Transport and store your holiday goodies with this fun Reversible Baking Dish Cover. Designed by the Crafty for Home blog, this is free sewing project is beginner friendly. This pattern is easily customized to your baking dish size and is also washable! The Nosy Owls fabric from the Sweet Floral Scent fabric collection would look great on this fun sewing project!
