Specialty Sewing Supply Shops

Specialty Sewing Supply Shops | Little Fabric Shop Blog

When I sold my sewing work professionally, it was important to find and source high quality notions and supplies. For this week's blog, I am sharing some of my favorite online stores that sell specialty sewing items. These shops have large inventories of high-quality merchandise, and they also provide outstanding customer service.

Zippers

If you are looking for zippers, you have got to check-out Zip it Zippers. They have gigantic selection of high-quality zippers at amazing prices. They are fast shippers and are dedicated to providing top-notch customer service. These zippers are perfect for bag-making, garment sewing, and home décor – such as pillows. There are so many different sizes, styles, and color options. They even have a special Sew Together Bag zipper pack.

Bag Hardware

The Bagmaker Supply shop on Etsy is where I have found the best selection and quality of buckles, slides, claw clasps and other specialty bag hardware notions. Their mission is to provide professional quality purse hardware, supplies, and tools to the handbag hobbyist and small manufacturer. They are attentive to quality with excellent packaging, quick shipping, and outstanding communication. Our Noodlehead patterns use many of the bagmaking supplies from this shop.

More Bag Hardware & Tools

Another excellent bag hardware supplier is Goldstar Tools. I use this supplier for grommets and snaps. You will find every different shape, size, and tint of sewing hardware supplies here. Whether you need snaps for a purse, rivets for jeans, or grommets for a custom shower curtain they’ve got it.

If you work with grommets and snaps often, it is worth investing in their Heavy Duty Press. I have this one in green.

Felt

Benzie Design is a felt super store! They believe that the best things are handmade things and that crafters should dream big – in bold, bright colors. How fun is that? Their shop is filled with felt and pom poms is every shade, hue, tint, tone, and palette you can think of. They also have shop curated color bundles that are packed full of coordinating and beautiful color palettes.

I sold handmade felt Christmas Light garland during my holiday shows and purchased all of my supplies from Benzie Designs. By using a shop curated color palette along with the Sissix Big Shot die cutting machine and holiday light die (now discontinued), I was able to create these fun holiday decorations.

Liberty of London Fabric

Liberty of London fabric is so much fun to sew with! DuckaDilly is my most favorite supplier of this beautiful fabric. This shop is filled with every color, collection, and style of Liberty fabrics. This boutique studio was borne from a love of Liberty Fabrics. This shop is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan and you can shop online or in store with an appointment.

I used Liberty of London fabric to create these mini clasp purses. The size of the purse is perfect for loose change, lipstick, or any small item. I kept a few for myself.
