Are you ready for the holidays? Want a super quick and easy no-sew project? AND you can even use your fabric stash or scrap fabrics? You have got to try the Rag Wreath tutorial! This project is great for any age and is fun to do with kids. The Rag Wreath can be created for any season or décor. In our tutorial, we are making this for a fun and festive holiday season.
Materials Needed to Complete Project:
Approximately 6 half yards of assorted fabrics (it varies depending on the size of the wreath frame you use and how many different fabrics you would like for your wreath). We used an assortment of Alison Glass Sun Print Luminance fabrics.
Wire Wreath Frame. These wire frames are available in a variety of sizes and shapes. They can be purchased at any large crafting store. We went with the 12” frame size.
General sewing tools including Rotary Cutter, Mat, and Scissors.
Cutting Instructions:
Fabric size is W: 3” x H: 7”. You can create a total of 36 blocks from each half yard of fabric. By stacking the fabrics on top of each other, the cutting will go super-fast and super easy.
Assembly of the Rag Wreath:
Pick a fabric color and then simply tie it onto one of the metal hoops on the wire frame. No need to knot it. One simple tie is all that is required.
Continue to tie fabrics to each of the wire loops until the entire wreath is completed.
We attached a small strip of fabric – W: 2.5” x H: 20” to the top of the wreath to create a cute hanging loop to finish it up. That’s it! How fun and easy was this project???
