The Table + Nest pattern is a modern log cabin pattern for the home. This pattern will create one modern log cabin top using the foundation paper piecing (FPP) technique. The finished top can then be sewn into either a placemat or pillow.

Knowledge of how to complete a mini quilt (placemat) or pillow is needed to finish this project. Understanding of FPP is helpful. A link to a FPP Tutorial is provided within the pattern.

Placemat Top -or- Pillow Top: 9 assorted colors, sized 2½” x 44” (x2 each) of each color in quilting cotton, cotton woven, or linen blend fabric

Binding: ¼ Yard

Backing: ½ Yard

Batting: 18” x 24” Batting (x1) for Placemat --or-- (x2) for Pillow

Zipper: 14” Zipper (for Pillow only)

Supplies Needed:

Rotary Cutter, Cutting Mat, Fabric Shears, Pins, Binding Clips, Iron, Seam Roller, Add-A-Quarter 12” Ruler, Tweezers, Thread & Sewing Machine.
