9 Back to School Sewing Projects

Back to school is just around the corner. Let’s take a moment to celebrate. Wahoo!!!! To say that we are a little excited does not do justice to the pure joy we have as we countdown the days.

To get us all ready for the new school year, we have put together a list of nine back to school sewing projects that are all free. Each project has a link to the step-by-step directions to get you and your family ready for the start of a new school year.

4. Zipper Bag

Here is another tutorial we created here at Little Fabric Shop. This Zipper Bag pattern will create a larger sized pouch that will store office supplies and other items that are too big for the pencil case. Scroll to the bottom of the link to find all the tutorials details along with a downloadable pattern. The Zipper Bag pattern is beginner friendly, but experience with box pleats and attaching zippers will be helpful. We used the Anna Maria Horner Bright Eyes fabric to create this fun and versatile bag.

5. Reusable Lunch Bags

The Reusable Lunch Bag tutorial is another earth friendly project. It was designed and created  by The Inspiration Board. Instead of grabbing a plastic baggie for on-the-go snacks and lunches, this bag is a great alternative to disposable bags. The pattern says that they can be made in less than thirty minutes. And it is another beginner friendly tutorial. Love that!
