10 Merry Christmas Quilt Patterns
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Wait, who are we kidding, the shops have been decorating for the holidays since September. Little Fabric Shop is looking forward to a handmade holiday season. To kick-off November, we’re sharing all of our shop’s Christmas and holiday themed quilt patterns. These beauties will fill your home – or a lucky someone’s heart – with a warm and cozy glow.
Frosty Quilt
The Frosty quilt pattern is one of Modern Handmade’s latest additions to her beautiful quilting line. Snowmen take centerstage on the quilt. They are supported with wreaths, peppermint sticks, and pine trees. All the festive images of the holiday season. This is a traditionally pieced quilt, and she has even included a link to a Frosty coloring page, so you are able to plan out your fabrics and colors for this Christmas quilt pattern. Solid color fabrics from the Century Solids collection would work beautifully for this quilt.
Ivy Quilt
Kitchen Table Quilting has created a holiday themed quilt pattern with their Ivy Quilt. They used the Jolly Darlings fabric line by Ruby Star Society in this photo. This plaid inspired quilt pattern is jelly roll, fat eight, fat quarter or scrap friendly. This holiday quilt sewing pattern offers four different quilt size options and is for an intermediate skilled quilter.
Cold Front Quilt
The Cold Front quilt pattern is designed by the Wren Collective. This cozy mitten themed pattern is making us excited for sledding, snowball fights, and skiing. All the outdoor fun that is a part of the winter season. This pattern works with all types of fabrics – solids, quilting cotton prints, or a combination of both. The quilt is fat quarter friendly and traditionally pieced together. A confident beginner will have no problem creating this adorable winter themed quilt pattern.
Holly Jolly Quilt
Two of our favorite pattern designers have teamed up to create the Holly Jolly quilt pattern. Then Came June and Pen + Paper Patterns are known for their well-written and beautiful modern quilt patterns. The Holly Jolly quilt screams December décor. This is a beginner friendly pattern and finishes into a lap sized throw. Just perfect for sipping eggnog while decorating your Christmas Tree.
Kris Kringle Quilt
Santa Hats are a sure sign of the holiday season. The Kris Kringle quilt pattern features Old Saint Nick’s cap front and center. This fun quilt sewing pattern was designed and created by Pen + Paper Patterns. Whether you use solid or print fabrics, it is sure to turn-out amazing. This is a beginner friendly pattern that is also traditionally pieced and finishes to a lap-sized throw quilt.
Knitted Star Quilt
Lo & Behold Stitchery was inspired by “Fair Isle” knitted sweaters when she created the Knitted Star quilt. This pattern has many fabric possibilities. By using just two colors, you can create a traditional quilt. To make the modern version, use your favorite fat quarters. This pattern features diagrams, thorough instructions, alternated color-way inspiration, and a coloring page to help you organize and plan your fabric. Three size options are included with this intermediate level pattern.
Snowflake Quilt
The Snowflake Quilt pattern is another pattern designed by Modern Handcraft. This minimal winter themed quilt has many piecing possibilities. There is a 1-color, 4-color, or square and half square triangle scrappy version. Check-out our Half Square Triangle Tutorial for all the steps in creating this quilt block. Links in pattern include a coloring sheet to help you plan out your design, a cutting diagram to help visualize the best way of cutting your fabric, and printable cutting tags to help organize your fabric cuts on the larger block 1-color and 4-color versions. We think Tula Pink’s Holiday Homies flannel fabric would look amazing in this quilt!
Retro Ornaments Quilt
Heirloom Christmas ornaments are the inspiration behind Lo & Behold Stitchery’s Retro Ornaments quilt pattern. This beautiful Christmas quilt uses curve sewing to create the blocks and is for a more intermediate skilled quilter. The pattern includes three different finished size options and has two bonus block variations to add a little something extra to your sewing. This stunning quilt will be cherished year after year during the holiday season.
Just My Type Quilt
Have you seen Pen + Paper Patterns Just My Type quilt pattern? This pattern is just perfect for adding words like “Merry”, “Joy”, “Santa”, or “Winter” to your home décor. Create a table runner or quilted pillow with holiday inspired words spelled out in a modern typeset format.
